Intrusions is a performance video work inspired by the idea of the abject, that which repels or even disgusts us. This piece explores this concept in relation to our attempts to conform to societal standards, and exposes the ugliness within this process, as we become the objects of our own disaffection through self-critique. Intrusions is meant to be invasive in its depiction of these routines, and to demonstrate these patterns’ invasiveness within our self-perception.
